Hilton Head Golf Courses
Hilton Head is known the world over as one of the
greatest golf vacation destinations, and with good reason. Home
to some great courses like the Harbour Town golf links in Seapines,
home of the MCI Heritage Classic, which has been host to the biggest
names in golf, Nicklaus, Palmer, Love, Norman, Stewart...in fact
there are more courses than you could possibly play in one visit,
which is perhaps why so many people return year after year.

Two designers worked on this course,
nine holes by Booby Weed and eighteen holes by Gary Player,
making for an interesting round. Playing in the Sping months,
Hilton Head National is reminiscent of Augusta National,
with wide green fairways, and Azalea bushes and other shrubs.
A truly beautiful course.

A collaborative effort between Fuzzy
Zoeller and local golf course architecht Clyde Johnston,
this is sometimes called Fuzzys First.
Making good use of the natural terrain, Island West Golf
Club has a lot of water to take into account, as well as
numerous bunkers, and the Southern trademark of live oaks,
complete with Spanish moss. The fairways roll more than
most courses in the area, so a lot of fun to play.

One of only 4 golf courses in South Carolina
to be a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary",
the Ocean Course prides itself on the natural surroundings,
and rightly so. The newly designed 15th is a par 3 with
some of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean of any courses
on the Island. Long in the shadow of Harbour Town golf club,
the Ocean Course is really a delight in its own right.

Another great design from local legend
Clyde Johnston. Old South Golf Links, as the name suggests,
is a links-style course with numerous islands that will
put your chipping skills to the test. the 7th and 8th holes
are spectacular, with views of the marsh and water that
are second to none. One thing though is that if you are
playing during the afternoon, you may want to bring some
bug spray.
